Health Psychology

Health psychology is the study of the intersection between illness, mental health, and physical health. When related to patient care, this intersection typically focuses on promotion of health and prevention and treatment of disease and illness–topics such as smoking cessation, weight, management of chronic disease, and sleep. Health psychologists typically focus on stressors that exacerbate physical conditions, aiding people with reducing stressors which in turn manages physical health conditions.

Health Psychology focuses on promoting physical health through the prevention and treatment of illness-inducing behaviors. We address topics such as smoking cessation, dietary change and weight control, management of chronic disease, and sleep problems.
