
Richard F. Grosse LCSW
Richard Grosse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He has been practicing in Richmond, Virginia since 1985. His undergraduate training was at Vanderbilt University and he received his Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Richard has extensive experience working with adults and adolescents in individual, couples and family therapy. He has experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges including addictive behaviors (substance abuse, pornography, gambling), anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties and other adjustment issues. Richard works with both adults and teenagers who struggle with both active substance abuse problems and subsequent recovery issues. He is a member of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) treatment team. Richard has taught in the School of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. He presents at professional conferences across the nation, ranging from the University of Virginia’s Adolescent Health Conference to the first Faith Based Recovery Conference in Los Angeles.
He has presented at symposiums at Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Monmouth University on Bruce Springsteen and American Culture. He teaches and trains folks in recovery at Northstar Community Church (www.northstarcommunity.com). Richard practices evidence-based treatment including cognitive behavioral, affective, and interpersonal approaches in his work with adults, adolescents and families.
